As a vegetarian, here’s a sentence I never thought I’d say: “I have got to do something about all of the old meat rolling around in my car”. 

My girlfriend’s ex-roommate left behind a bunch of stuff when she abruptly moved out, including a pile of canned goods and chicken broth that her parents had bought her as hurricane-preparation materials, and I’d moved those cans to the trunk of my car one day when cleaning out the garage. I’d intended to drop them off at a homeless shelter, but when that proved to have more-than-zero logistical complications I fell into putting it off indefinitely. 

I had driven rideshare for Lyft after I got sober but I’d stopped once I’d picked up a stable job, so I no longer had to constantly keep my car clean enough to pass the inspection of uncaring strangers.
